Overview

While all linguistics students are required to take courses in the various branches of linguistic analysis, students enjoy the option of combining this with coursework in Communication, Education, English, Foreign Languages, Philosophy, Psychology, and Sociology. The program in Linguistics is designed for students with academic or professional interest in Linguistics and offers students the unique opportunity to pursue this field of study in both a liberal arts tradition and a Christian context.

Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is where students experience what higher education can be at this nationally ranked liberal arts university. Our faculty prepares students every day to compete on the world stage – whether you’re studying on campus, online or at one of our many opportunities abroad. With our small class size, professors will know you and walk alongside you in your college journey in a caring, Christian community.
