Overview

Endless opportunities for creativity

Unlock your creative potential through the diverse opportunities a music degree brings. Whether you love teaching, conducting, playing, or performing, this program offers a variety of ways to pursue your interests and aspirations. While you’re learning to express your unique individuality, you will also explore how the shared experience of music brings us all together.

Because music is such a diverse area, we offer five distinct paths you can choose from including Parish Music, K-12 Music Education, Music Therapy Equivalency, the Music minor, and the Liberal Arts Music degree that provides a solid, well-rounded musical education, allowing you to explore your creativity and develop your technical abilities.  As a student in the Liberal Arts Music program of Concordia University Wisconsin you will study music theory, composition, conducting, music history, and forms of the medieval, baroque, pre-classical, romantic, and 20th century periods from around the globe. With such a thorough background, you’ll gain the skills to excel in your chosen medium.

What to expect

You will learn from our internationally acclaimed faculty while having the opportunity to attend performances, travel with our talented band, orchestra, vocal choir, and  handbell choir ensembles, join one of our student-led music groups, and participate in events throughout the school year. In addition to learning in group settings with fellow students, you can also work one-on-one with a private tutor in your area of interest.
