Carroll University’s Educational Studies program prepares you for a variety of education-related careers outside of the traditional K-12 classrooms. You’ll learn about the variety of ways in which education occurs in our society, the history of schooling and innovative approaches to education. You’ll also study approaches to special education, teaching students with exceptional needs, and the psychology of development and learning. In addition, you’ll work one-on-one with a faculty mentor to select other courses that relate to your career interests.
Our educational studies program builds the foundation for a flexible career with a variety of options, such as social work, corporate training, human resources positions, literacy development, social service agencies, tutoring, workforce development, sales, community education and many more.
- An educational studies major can also help prepare you for graduate studies in programs such as school psychology, guidance counseling, school social work, occupational therapy or physical therapy. Note that this major does not lead to teacher certification.
