  • 48 months
Irvine, CA, United States
The International Studies major includes core courses from the fields of anthropology, communications, economics, history, sociology, and theology. Along with the four-semester modern language requirement and study abroad, this emphasis digs deeper with 16 units covering topics like World Religion, Apologetics and Biblical Theology and Exegesis.

The International Studies major will provide you a strong framework for experiencing and examining international cultures in respectful and insightful ways.

The International Studies major's mission is to attract and develop an exceptional group of world learners through a combination of individualized mentoring, multidisciplinary course work, intercultural fieldwork, and opportunities for compassionate action. The aim is to equip you with the global knowledge, intercultural grace, practical learning skills, and moral courage to succeed in vocations dedicated to promoting God's truth and justice in the world.

The International Studies major includes core courses from the fields of anthropology, communications, economics, history, sociology, and theology. The four-semester modern language requirement will strengthen your cultural engagement while preparing you for international study.

Increasingly interrelated world economies, ever-improving communication technologies, improved transportation, and the outsourcing of labor are making our world smaller than ever. U.S. organizations function in isolation at their own peril. This culturally diverse landscape creates both opportunities and challenges for organizations that wish to function across borders. Global organizations need professionals trained to understand the political, historical, cultural, and economic factors that influence communities, who can use that expertise to help organizations make educated, ethical decisions. The International Studies major will prepare you for this challenge, training you to be a leader for service in a rapidly shrinking world.
