Globalization is exciting and constantly imposes new challenges on companies. The employees in some large companies even outnumber those living in smaller countries. A copious clash of cultures both internally and externally. Colleagues, customers, suppliers – each bearing his or her own culture and values. And when it comes to foreign negotiations, it is advisable to avoid cultural faux pas. The task of intercultural management experts is to utilize cultural awareness in order to build bridges between cultures and cultural areas thus facilitating the success of one’s own company.
In addition to economics, cultural and social sciences are also on the agenda. Beginning in the first semester, you will be confronted with intercultural management theories and case studies. In the following semesters, you will discuss the economic cultures of the EU, Asia, India, North Africa and Latin America as well as politics and cultural anthropology. This is because economic relations are always influenced by external factors – think about the discussions about free trade agreements.
Our graduates work for internationally active companies, in non-governmental organizations or utilize their intercultural competence in consulting and human resources.
