Overview

  • Students are prepared for supervisory and administrative positions in a variety of recreation and park agencies, as well as health and allied health agencies. The major offers two options: recreational therapy and recreation management. 
  • Degree requirements include the completion of a 15-week internship consisting of 500 clock hours, which is completed in an agency setting under the supervision of a professional who holds current certification in his or her respective area.
  •  A 2.5 grade point average is required for enrollment in the internship. Students must also pass national certification examinations to qualify for employment at most agencies.
