During the Sports Coaching (Single Honours) program at Leeds Trinity University, you’ll study coaching models and styles, as well as psychosocial aspects such as learning and leadership. The program will teach you the professional codes to which coaches must adhere, exploring the ethical and moral responsibilities of the coach.

Understanding the principles of performance analysis is crucial, so you’ll learn how to identify performance indicators and coaching strategies across a variety of sports. You’ll examine the physiological components of performance, learning about skeletal and muscular anatomy and function.

You’ll get hands-on experience of a range of coaching practices using our excellent sports facilities, including our Sports Laboratory and Strength and Conditioning Suite.

You’ll complete two professional work placements and you’ll have the option to work with business experts in your final year to develop your own viable business plan.

You’ll get the experience of using the latest high-performance sports technology, such as GPS tracking and 3D motion tracking, developing the sector-specific skills you’ll need for a graduate role.

Alongside your degree, you’ll be encouraged and supported to complete nationally recognized coaching qualifications in a variety of sports.

You'll be well-prepared for a career in coaching, but you'll also develop transferable organizational and interpersonal skills which will prepare you for many managerial positions.
