Mission

Consistent with the three traditions of Saint Mary's College and the mission of the School of Economics and Business Administration, the Economics Department offers academically rigorous undergraduate degree programs that

  • are offered in small classes by faculty dedicated to teaching;
  • emphasize the broader global, social and environmental contexts of economic activity;
  • prepare students for a wide variety of educational and career opportunities; and
  • engage students and faculty in current academic research and professional development.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 3

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 3 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • Original, official transcripts are required. If the transcript is not in English, a certified English translation is required.
  •  Any period of the four year high school record not reflected on the American high school transcript must be sent from all schools attended abroad.
  • Official college records are required for all students who have attended any post-secondary school; each college attended must be listed on the application for admission and official records must be provided from each institution attended.
