About Nursing at La Salle University
Didactic portions of the courses are taught during the day and clinical experiences are planned for daytime as well as evening hours.
La Salle University’s School of Nursing and Health Sciences is innovative, evidence-based, experiential, and interprofessional. Graduates of the Nursing program become culturally and clinically competent members of their profession via state-of-the-art simulation labs, experienced and dedicated faculty, and clinical experiences including our Neighborhood Nursing Center, a nurse-managed public health facility and large teaching hospital facilities in the Philadelphia area. Clinical experiences start in the sophomore year.
Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program, the student is prepared to:
- Integrate liberal education as a basis for holistic nursing practice.
- Exhibit leadership attributes to promote safe, quality care for diverse clients across a variety of settings.
- Apply principles of evidence-based practice in the care of diverse clients across the lifespan.
- Use information systems and health care technologies to support evidence-based nursing practices that promote safe, cost-effective, quality healthcare.
- Practice as an advocate in complex health care delivery systems.
- Communicate effectively as a member of the interprofessional healthcare team to promote optimal outcomes.
- Engage in partnerships with diverse clients across the lifespan to promote health and prevent disease.
- Demonstrate accountability for caring, professional nursing practice bound by ethical principles and legal statutes.
- Implement culturally congruent, holistic, patient-centered nursing care to address complex needs of clients across the lifespan.
