Would you enjoy advising and advocating for people in need? Learn how to assist counselors in resolving clients’ personal, family, educational, mental health and work-related issues through the Counseling Psychology bachelor’s degree program.

Overview

You’ll gain a broad foundation of knowledge concerning human thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Explore how social environment (such as family, culture, religion, etc.) impacts people’s development, and discover the biological and psychological motivations for certain behaviors. Then apply your knowledge to determine viable modes of intervention and treatment, if any are needed.

Through an internship you’ll get to apply what you’ve learned in research or work settings. Because of the program’s strong scientific foundation, you’ll be ready for careers in a wide range of business, nonprofit and government occupations, as well as graduate-level education.

You’ll graduate with clinical work experience that few undergraduates have. You’ll also have the option to move on to specific graduate programs, including JWU’s Counseling Master of Science (MS) degree.
