Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman is one of the few well-known private universities in Malaysia which offer the Industrial Engineering degree programme. Other private universities offering this programme as s Degree transfer programme which required the students to continue their degree study in overseas. Therefore, studying in UTAR for the whole duration of the degree in Industrial Engineering in Malaysia is more cost effective.
The Industrial Engineering (Honours) programme is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary and can be applied in many place and situations where cost, quality and productivity are important. The graduates of this programme can work in two sectors, the industrial/manufacturing plant sectors and service sectors. In the service sectors especially in the logistics and transportation sectors, Industry Engineers are usually working in the operations, business analysis, planning and project management areas.

- Admission to UTAR is on purely meritocratic basis. You are expected to satisfy the academic qualification and English Language requirement set by the University. Some programmes may have additional requirements such as the submission of a drawing portfolio, and an interview before the University decides on the admission.
- For admission into undergraduate programmes, the University will accept the applications from students with the standard list of foreign qualifications.
- For your information that the University has its minimum entry requirement (MER) for each qualification and each programme. Should you do not fulfill the MER, you will be required to undertake a one-year Foundation studies.
