The School of Education is responsible for providing leadership, coordination, and evaluation of all teacher education programs at the University. Its central purpose is to provide pre-service and inservice educational programs to prospective teachers, in-service teachers, administrators, and others engaged in educational activities in schools and other agencies. 

About

Students seeking certification in Special Education (K-12) may pursue a degree in the liberal arts/sciences with emphasis on Interdisciplinary Studies. Students are admitted to the School of Education at the end of 60 hours of course work and passing scores on PRAXIS Core Academic Skills for Educators ( (or equivalent). Students must pass the RVE and VCLA to be approved for student teaching.
