Overview
The Family and Child Life program at Central Washington University prepares students to pursue careers in family social services, adoption, child care, community youth programs, or other careers involving work with children and families.
Students are also well-prepared to pursue graduate education in child life, mental health counseling, social work, marriage, and family therapy, human development, and family studies, or related fields.
Why this program?
Students in the Family and Child Life program complete a multi-term internship at an agency suited to their professional goals and interests. Students also participate in research and often present at the university, regional, or national level.

General requirements
- Complete and submit your official application for admission.
- Students that apply early are more likely to receive scholarships, have their financial aid ready, and are more prepared for college.
- Submit a non-refundable $60 application fee.
- When applying online, you must submit the fee through your application portal or uploan an application fee waiver. Common fee waivers include ACT/SAT, TRiO, or other college support programs.
- Submit an official high school transcript.
- Transcripts will be considered official only when sent directly from the institution to Central Washington University via the address below. In-progress transcripts will be used to evaluate applications. Final official transcripts must be submitted upon completion of course of study and must include graduation date.
