Overview

Dietetics students receive hands-on experience in a variety of clinical, community, and foodservice settings. Some examples include provision of nutrition education to senior citizens, participation in University health fairs, clinical exposure in local hospitals, and meal preparation and management for both small and large groups of people.

The Southeast Missouri State University Dietetics Program is granted accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).
