Overview

The Pre-Medicine program is offered by Thomas Jefferson University . This “umbrella” major provides a broad range of science courses while offering unique electives such as histology and pathology – getting you ahead for whatever comes next.

A case-history and problem-based learning approach prepare you to interpret complex data, while clinical experiences and preceptorships support the development of analytical and empathic communication skills; which are critical for success in medical school and the health professions.

You will also have individual attention in small classes, allowing you to have personal faculty guidance, who help plan possible career paths and assist with medical school applications – not to mention we have MCAT test prep on-campus.

General Requirements

To apply online as an undergraduate student, complete the Jefferson Online Application or Common Application and submit all supporting materials before the deadlines.

To be considered for admission to Jefferson (Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University), first year applicants must submit:

  • $40 non-refundable application fee
  • Official high school transcript(s)
  • SAT and/or ACT scores. The PhilaU code for the SAT is 2666 and the ACT is 3668.
  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor who can speak to your academic preparation and college readiness.
  • Essay of at least 250 words.
