The Department of Management, Marketing and Information Systems offers a wide range of information systems courses to support the B.S.B.A.  degree (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) with a major in information systems.

About

The Information Systems major is designed to prepare the student for careers working with today's and tomorrow's computer-based information systems. Students interested in designing and developing information systems should select the Management Information Systems Concentration, while students interested in developing and utilizing business communication skills associated with information systems should select the Business Communication Information Systems Concentration. 

Both concentrations build upon a foundation of computer literacy which emphasizes hands-on skills. These skills are practiced and polished in a network environment that encourages the collaborative problem solving approaches being used in modern organizations.

Programme Structure

Characteristics of students with successful careers in information systems include: a broad knowledge of computer systems and technologies, thorough understanding of managerial and organizational principles and practices, an ability to think logically and analytically, strong interpersonal skills, good problem-solving skills, perseverance and patience.

  • Complete the Admissions Application online: 
  • Submit the $30 application fee when you complete the application
  • Send your official high school transcript to the UT Martin Office of Admissions.
  • Send us your official ACT and/or SAT scores. 
  • Upon graduation, request that a final high school transcript be sent to the Admissions Office. If you received a GED, request a GED transcript be sent to UT Martin
  • If you have completed dual credit coursework while in high school, have a copy of your official dual credit transcript sent to the UT Martin Admissions Office directly from the college where you earned the credit. *Not required if your dual credit was taken with UT Martin*
