The Aviation, Flight and Maintenance program of Andrews University prepares the individual for a career as both a pilot and a mechanic.


Program Features

The Aviation, Flight and Maintenance program of Andrews University is specifically aimed at the person that is interested in becoming a mission pilot. It provides the training to be eligible for the 1250-hour restricted ATP license. The degree requires the completion of the Commercial Pilot Certificate with single and multi-engine ratings and the Mechanics Certificate with both the Airframe and Powerplant ratings. This degree requires four years and at least 2 summers to complete.

Careers in Aviation

An aviation degree will open up a world of careers. Literally. Work as a healthcare, mission or airline pilot. You can even join the military, teach in aviation school or work for Air Traffic Control. If you enjoy mechanics, a maintenance degree will prep you for work in plane operations and aerospace manufacturing.

  • Prospective students can upload unofficial transcripts directly into the application system during the application process
  • A certified (true) copy of the original transcript attested by an authorized person (i.e. Ministry of Education, authorized personnel at the embassy, department of interior affairs, Justice of the Peace, etc.) (international students)
  • You must have a high school GPA of 2.50 or higher (or an overall GED score at the 50th percentile or higher)
  • ACT/SAT is not required for international students
  • International and domestic prospective students whose language of education is not English must submit English proficiency test scores
