Overview

In the Women's and Gender Studies program of University of Michigan-Dearborn you will examine the ways that gender — through its connection with other forms of power such as race, class, sexuality and national location — shapes lives, bodies, institutions and worlds. And the community-service orientation of the UM-Dearborn program provides experiences that will contribute to both your intellectual growth and post-graduate employment opportunities.

You also will gain skills needed to succeed in today’s ever-changing labor market by developing your analytical and critical thinking skills and having the ability to integrate and apply knowledge across any career field.

Women’s and Gender Studies majors work in a variety of fields, including business and industry, education, health care, politics, law and social work.
