Upon completion of the English for New Media program at Dakota State University, students will:

Analyze and critically respond o a variety of texts, including both traditional, literary print texts and new media texts, such as interactive texts, film, and still images
Identify or formulate an appropriate rhetorical framework to communicate effectively for the purpose and audience
Be able to create digital, textual, and visual materials illustrating design skills, social media awareness, and rhetorical strategies for online publishing
Be comfortable working in a variety of media (traditional documents, web-based texts and content, video, audio, and more

General requirements

In order to demonstrate your academic ability to meet the academic challenges at DSU, you’ll need to meet at least one of the following requirements:

Maintain an above-average academic record at least equivalent to a "B-" (2.60 on a 4.00 GPA scale)
Be in the top 60% of your class
Get an ACT composite score of 18 or above, or get an SAT score of 950 or above with subscores of at least 480 on the Math and 450 on the Critical Reading
