At the Sports Biology program at Springfield College, students take advanced courses in science and movement and have the opportunity to participate in research and/or a shadowing program to provide hands-on, real world experiences in careers that blend scientific knowledge with athletic studies.
As a graduate from the sports biology major, students can enter health professions, pursue graduate schools, and enter leadership roles in newly evolving careers in sports science and sports medicine.
Our sports biology students who responded reported working as emergency department technicians, EMTs, lab associates, patient care aids, and phlebotomists in places such as Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, EasCare Ambulance Service, Trinity EMS, University of Vermont Medical Center, and Yale New Haven Hospital.
Many of our sports biology students choose further their education through graduate school by entering into programs such as nursing, molecular and cellular biology, physical therapy, or physician assistant at colleges including Duke University, Quinnipiac University, Springfield College, and University of Massachusetts.
