Overview
Key Features
Chemistry faculty have breadth of expertise in areas of chemistry such as analytical, biochemistry, computational, education, inorganic, medicinal, organic, pharmacology, physical and polymer. Students learn in small classes and have the opportunity to work closely with faculty on undergraduate research early in their college careers. Each chemistry student, for example, will have a faculty member to serve as a mentor for a research project in their area of interest.
The Chemistry Education program at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls is designed for prospective secondary school teachers. The curriculum is planned so as to give the student (1) a broad general education, (2) specialized preparation in chemistry with a minor in a supporting field and (3) professional training necessary for effective teaching. In order to be admitted to the Educator Preparation Program, the student needs to be evaluated and recommended by the Chemistry Education Advisory Committee. Contact the Chemistry Department chair or the education program's STEM advisor for further information.Programme Structure
