The Secondary Teacher Education Program at Bishop’s University is a two step program leading to two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or a Bachelor of Sciences (B.Sc.) with a Double Major (Education and a teaching discipline) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) This combination of degrees is required in order to be eligible for a Quebec teaching permit or “brevet d’enseignement.”

General Requirements

  • Normally have completed 12 years of formal schooling and received a secondary school credential that would permit you access to university in that country. If you are studying at or have graduated from secondary school in a country where secondary school finishes after only 11 years of formal schooling your application will be evaluated on an individual basis.
  • Minimum average required varies depending upon curriculum followed; transcripts are reviewed on an individual basis.
