This concentration is designed to prepare students to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination and to pursue a career in accounting. Students are encouraged to work in accounting firms, banks, etc. as they complete their final year.

Business Administration prepares you for careers in business and social enterprise and government sector where management, ethics, technology, critical thinking, and communication skills are essential. Our graduates' entrepreneurial and leadership traits, combined with their business skills and knowledge, have enabled them to launch their own businesses or move into high-potential jobs.

Our goal is for you to graduate with not just a solid foundation in business knowledge and skills, but also with the behavioral attributes that give you a competitive advantage in either your chosen career path or graduate school. Students choosing an Accounting Concentration will follow one of three tracks. The Professional Accounting Track helps prepare students to sit for the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination and undertake careers in public accounting. The General Accounting Track helps prepare students for accounting, tax, and financial management careers in business, government, and not-for-profit organizations. The Financial Analysis Track helps prepare students for careers in investment advisory services, banking, and financial planning.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.4

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.4 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

  • High school diploma equivalent or certificate of graduation
  • Official high school transcript (official record of marks/scores/grades)
