The Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Science is designed to produce graduates with a well-developed knowledge and broad range of skills across the different disciplines of science and economics. Graduates will be able to adapt to change and future challenges to contribute to the commercial and social wellbeing of your community.  You will have the ability to apply evidence-based decision making, problem solving and critical analysis through authentic learning activities and communication with diverse audiences.

The Bachelor of Business and Science at University of Tasmania offers you a range of flexible study options, including full-time and part-time study, as well as delivery in on-campus, blended and off-campus modes.

You have options to focus your study in one or more scientific and economics disciplines, and learn the methods to apply your skills and knowledge to the practical needs of industry, business and government in both scientific and non-scientific roles.

In choosing a Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Science you can:

  • Build a degree that is tailored specifically to your own needs: select your majors and minor subjects from 17 different disciplinary areas in the BSc component and 3 disciplinary areas in the BEc component.

Career Outcomes

Graduates with a Science degree can be eligible for membership of a number of professional organisations, depending on their specialist studies.     General Requirements

    International students must provide one of the following: UTASAccess Level 6 with a minimum overall score of 60% and no individual skill below 55%; or an IELTS score with an overall Band of 6 and no band less than 5.5; or a TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 72 (no individual skill must be lower than: Reading 10; Listening 9; Speaking 16; and, Writing 19) or a PTE Academic overall score of 50 with no score lower than 42, or provide evidence that you have studied for 2 years full-time with English as the sole medium of instruction and examination. These tests must not be more than 24 months old.
