The objectives of the combined degree in Arts and Business at University of Tasmania are:
  • to complement traditional studies in humanities and social sciences with a wide range of management, accounting, marketing and business skills;
  • to broaden the opportunities of Business students to undertake studies in languages and area studies.
Career Outcomes

Graduates of the combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Business degree could expect to obtain employment in such areas asaccounting, finance, international business, human resource or personnel management, marketing, journalism and public relations, government and teaching.

General Requirements

Admission Prerequisites

If you have not successfully completed General Mathematics TQA 3; Mathematics Methods – Foundation TQA 3; Mathematics Applied TQA 3; or an equivalent pre-tertiary or higher-level mathematics subject, you are required to complete one of the following units before enrolling in Quantitative Methods:

  • Bridging Maths
  • Introduction to Quantitative Methods
  • Transition Maths; or
  • Mathematics Foundation

International students who have not completed General Mathematics TQA 3  or an equivalent pre-tertiary or higher-level mathematics subject are required to undertake the unit Introduction to Quantitative Methods.
