Overview
At Elementary Education from Idaho State University students select General Education Objective courses that support the cognitive knowledge and skill requirements of an elementary teacher, including a study of the state’s history.
Graduates with Elementary Education from Idaho State University will:
- Have subject matter knowledge in social science, language arts, science, mathematics, or language. He/she must utilize this knowledge in specific applications and assessments within the educational methods curriculum.
- Be aware of the theories related to cognitive and physical child development, classroom management and motivation, lesson planning, instructional delivery, technology classroom integration, and assessment.
- Participate in diverse early and extended field experiences, where their lesson planning, instructional delivery, and assessment can be externally evaluated.
