In addition to the industry-experienced lecturers you’ll learn from current professional practitioners. Guest lecturers have included David Palmer, the GB coach for under-23s deaf football, and notable speakers from Sports Coach UK. You’ll study the planning and delivery of sports programmes and initiatives, and will undertake work placements and research projects, focusing on the topics that interest you. This will provide you with an invaluable insight into the industry and will greatly support the development of your skills and employability.
The dedicated sports placement team will work with you to find opportunities that fit with your individual career aspirations. The university has links with industry names such as Sport England, Youth Sports Trust, The Football Association, Gloucestershire Sport and Physical Activity Trust, as well as the local councils. Recent students have undertaken work placements with Cheltenham Town Football Club, Gloucester City Council, and local primary and secondary schools.
