About

Business and Management with Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Hons) programme of Edge Hill University covers the fundamentals of business and management practice, with a particular focus on the logistics and challenges of supply chain management.

Overview

As well as preparing for and attending lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops, you will spend time reading and completing coursework, including written assignments and presentations. You will also have the opportunity to learn from external business professionals who are invited to teach occasional sessions, as well as benefiting from potential company visits and relevant events and conferences.

Throughout the Business and Management with Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Hons) programme of Edge Hill University there is a combination of different forms of assessment to test intellectual development, vocational capability and critical thinking. Coursework involves individual and group-based activities, case studies and problem-solving exercises. Examinations take a variety of forms, using both seen and unseen questions.

Career:

As a BSc (Hons) Business and Management with Logistics and Supply Chain Management graduate, you will be qualified to work in areas such as customer service management, logistics management, production management, material planning, systems support, transportation, scheduling, general management, or as a sourcing analyst, process analyst or purchasing agent. You would also have the potential to develop your own business ideas and operate in a global business environment. Alternatively, you may wish to undertake further study and progress to a Masters degree.

This degree is accredited by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the UK’s leading professional body in logistics and transport, and as such offers exemptions from the education requirements for Chartered Membership (subject to achieving a degree classification of at least second class honours).

You will also gain affiliate membership of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), a globally recognised professional body, for the duration of your degree and associate membership (known as ACMI) for one additional year after graduation. You will then have the option to renew your associate membership on an annual basis, however this would be at your own expense. The CMI is dedicated to promoting the highest standards in management and leadership excellence. Membership entitles you to full access to ManagementDirect, an extensive online portal that provides invaluable careers information, course-based resources and advice on best practice.

On completion of your degree, you will also be awarded a CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership.
