Overview

English at Keele is a thriving and passionate community of academics, students, and researchers committed to the study of literature. One of our great strengths is the flexibility for students to pursue their own areas of interest, and alongside the study of traditional literary forms we explore connections with other disciplines such as film and screen studies, history, cultural studies, and the medical humanities.

In the English Literature and Creative Writing (Hons) from Keele University, you’ll study literature from Shakespeare to the present day, with optional modules in subjects such as medieval, post-colonial, American and Canadian literatures, and film. You’ll learn about the creative processes and compile your own portfolios of creative writing, while sharing ideas with your fellow students in a vibrant community of Keele creative writers.
