Bachelor students of the Bachelor of Science at École Polytechnique follow a demanding multidisciplinary scientific curriculum focused on mathematics and computer science.
Their first year is dedicated to acquiring the intellectual tools and fundamental knowledge which will be essential for the rest of their higher education, while at the same time discovering and experiencing several disciplines in order to choose the right specialization for them.
In second and third years, students thus get the choice between three double majors:
Learning about electrodynamics or discrete probability in a classroom is one thing, using these concepts to perform an experiment or solve a research problem in a lab is another. Bachelor students get to do both, spending time in École Polytechnique cutting-edge Research Center, doing projects in the labs on real problems currently tackled by our scientists.
This programme requires students to demonstrate proficiency in English.
French Baccalaureate: Scientific stream preferred.
International Baccalaureate: Mathematics and at least one science course should be HL courses.
American (US) high school: Honors or AP classes in mathematics and/or sciences are preferred.
