You begin with studying engineering mathematics and fundamental sciences, and go on to learn the principles of chemical and process engineering operations. Chemical engineers have one of the highest earning potentials amongst the engineering professions and are employed in roles including research and development, design and plant operation. 

They are involved in a range of sectors including the utilities, construction, defence, chemicals, oil and pharmaceuticals. Chemical Engineering (with Foundation Year) (Hons) graduates are employed at companies such as BOC, Jacobs, Cummins and EDF.

Accreditation

This degree is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers, under licence from the Engineering Council. It fully satisfies the requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status and partially satisfies the requirements for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. Further masters-level accredited learning is required to complete the educational base for full CEng status.
