Overview

The department offers the degrees of Bachelor of Music in performance, Bachelor of Music in music education, Bachelor of Music in composition, and Bachelor of Arts in music. We are also excited to offer a new area of performance emphasis in jazz studies. A music minor is also available to students majoring in other disciplines.

Music Performance graduates at Northern Kentucky University pursue successful careers as professional performers, college and university faculty, public school music teachers, private studio instructors, and in allied fields within the music industry.

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.
