Overview

The major and minor in Latin American and Latino/Latina Studies (LALS) at Seton Hall University afford students an interdisciplinary path to study Latin American and Latino culture and history. LALS students master subjects and skills necessary for several fields including business, public service, healthcare, social work and education.

The programme

LALS majors dive into all facets of Latin American studies and the Latino/Latina experience. You’ll choose from two tracks: humanities or social science. The humanities track incorporates history, philosophy and Spanish language courses. Social science students focus on anthropology, politics and sociology. All LALS students perfect their Spanish language skills and tackle serious contemporary issues facing both the U.S. and Latin America. Students may also take courses designed specifically for bilingual/heritage speakers, along with business Spanish and English/Spanish translation.
