Students desiring an M.S. degree in nutrition and dietetics who do not have a bachelor's degree may take this three-year Nutrition and Dietetics (Coordinated Program in Dietetics, BS and MS) course of study at Loma Linda University. 

Overview

The applicant will present at least two years of education from an accredited Community College, College, or University indicating specific subject requirements for entrance into the Nutrition and Dietetics (Coordinated Program in Dietetics, BS and MS) course at Loma Linda University. 

The B.S. Nutrition and Dietetics (Coordinated Program in Dietetics, BS and MS) curriculum at Loma Linda University is comprised of didactic training and 1200 hours of supervised professional practice experiences in a health service and liberal arts environment to adequately prepare a competent graduate.  Upon the completion of the senior year, the student is awarded a Bachelor of Science degree and is eligible to write the registration examination of the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Possible Careers

The majority of RDs work in the treatment and prevention of disease (administering medical nutrition therapy, often part of medical teams) in hospitals, HMOs, private practice or other health-care facilities. In addition, a large number of RDs work in community and public health settings and academia, and research. A growing number of RDs work in the food and nutrition industry, in business, journalism, sports nutrition, and corporate wellness programs.
