By completing extensive study in a chosen concentration area—Biology, Chemistry, English, History/Social Studies, Spanish (NYC only), or Mathematics—our students from the Adolescent Education program at Pace University  become equipped with the knowledge and skills to be excellent teachers, who help today’s students become tomorrow’s leaders.

All of the School of Education programs (undergraduate and graduate) are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), and our rigorous curriculum is designed to prepare our students to meet New York State’s high standards for educators. In addition, Pace students begin their fieldwork during freshman year, ensuring that they gain in-classroom experience early on.

Candidates who wish to teach adolescents in middle or high school (grades 7-12) will major in Adolescent Education and the subject area they want to teach. Each of our adolescent education programs is nationally recognized, and all of our adolescent programs lead to a bachelor’s degree and the NYS Initial teaching certificate in Adolescent Education (grades 7-12). Candidates may also opt to pursue a combined bachelor’s and Master of Science in Education (B.S./MSEd) through our five-year combined degree program. The Adolescent education program is considered a full time program.
