In the University of Louisiana at Lafayette School of Architecture and Design, we offer both a Bachelor Science in Architectural Studies and three Master of Architecture programs, with each curriculum based on the student's previous education.

A primary goal of the architecture curriculum is to balance professional and technical education with a liberal arts education.

Our revised Architectural Studies curriculum at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for both the undergraduate and the graduate programs now allows for 45 credit hours of non-architecture courses so you can explore your other areas of interest.

Key Features

  • The pre-professional bachelor's degree prepares you to enter career fields related to architecture and to pursue the professional Master of Architecture degree. This degree is designed so you develop a foundation in design and professional development.
  • We are proud that our programs are a deliberate set of experiences aimed at helping you develop intelligent and ethical design methods through the exploration of the four architectural environments: physical, social-cultural, technological, and professional.

The Bachelor of Science in Architecture is accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB).

Programme Structure

  • The architectural studies curriculum focuses initially on design concepts and then builds into architecture-specific design principles alongside the history of architecture and civil engineering.
  • Because we believe you need a professional, technical, and liberal arts education to succeed as an architect, you'll learn about economics, physics, English, biology, and a variety of other subjects. We've mapped out your four years here as an architectural studies major. Follow this plan, and you'll be on track to graduate on time.
