Overview

The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree is a collaborative IU regional degree. It is appropriate for those students seeking to further their career by finishing a baccalaureate degree. Most of these students will be in technical fields where the path ahead in their careers requires completion of a baccalaureate degree.

The B.A.S. degree is an interdisciplinary degree designed for students that have completed an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree and who would benefit from a Bachelor’s degree for career or personal advancement. The B.A.S. gives students the opportunity to apply up to 64 of their technical A.A.S. credits to an Indiana University bachelor’s degree program.

Mission

The mission of Indiana University Kokomo, a regional campus of Indiana University, is to enhance the educational and professional attainment of the residents of north central Indiana through effective teaching, learning, and civic engagement and by providing a wide range of bachelor's degrees, and a limited number of master's and associate degrees.

Indiana University Kokomo is further dedicated to enhancing research, creative work, and other scholarly activity, promoting diversity and inclusion, and strengthening the economic and cultural vitality of the region and the state through a variety of community engagement, partnerships, and programs.

Programme Structure

What Courses Are Required for the B.A.S. Degree?

The curriculum consists of 120 credit hours. Of the 120 credit hours, 60 of those are transferred in from an accredited community college.

18 credits from required competencies

At least 12 credits from either a Health Care Management or an Individual track

30 credit hours of additional electives

All classes are available both online and in person. Further, students may complete online courses from other Indiana University campuses as part of the program.
