About

  • With a diverse curriculum, we provide an excellent education in the theory, history, ethics and practice of communication. This prepares them for careers and leadership in a wide variety of professions.Public Relations at the University of Dayton includes both knowledge and professional skill development based on a foundation of strong and precise writing, strategic planning, message design and delivery across media platforms, ethics and research.
  • A Bachelor of Arts in communication prepares students for professional careers in a wide range of communication fields such as broadcasting, communication management, journalism and public relations, and graduate studies in areas such as business, communication and law. Communication majors also have success in fields such as business, education, government, healthcare, international relations, and social and human services.
  • Faculty in the Department of Communication are outstanding teachers, scholars and mentors. At the beginning of their first semester on campus, students are assigned a faculty adviser who will serve as a primary contact in developing a program of study and exploring career options.

General Requirements

Undergraduate International Admission

International students applying for first-year or transfer admission to the University of Dayton must submit the following documents:

  • Application, including the essay. International students may complete either the Application for Undergraduate Admission and Scholarship or the Common Application. There is no application fee.
  • Letter of recommendation.
  • Official copy of secondary transcripts (in language of original issue) of all previously attended secondary schools, including dates of attendance, all subjects studied, grades earned and marks achieved on examinations; any transcripts not issued in English should be accompanied by a certified English translation.
  • TOEFL score (or equivalent).
  • F-1 and J-1 students must provide a letter of financial support and a bank statement showing sufficient funds to cover the first year of study.
