The courses required for a finance major are designed to help students prepare for careers in Corporate Financial Management, Investment Planning, Brokerage, Insurance, Commercial Banking, Real Estate and other similar fields. Core courses in finance provide students with a background in security analysis and investments, portfolio management, and financial planning and analysis.
The curriculum of the Finance program offered by the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christ also covers monetary policy, banking, financial markets, financial reporting, statement analysis, and risk management. Students may select finance electives in their area of interest such as insurance, real estate, accounting, or expand their knowledge in investments or financial analysis.

Automatic admission standards
If you graduated in the top 25% of your high school class and successfully completed the required pre-college curriculum above, you will gain automatic admission without minimum SAT or ACT score requirements. You are, however, still required to submit official scores on either exam to the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.
The SAT scores reflected in the tables below include the combination of the Critical Reading and Math Sections. Our current test score requirements do not include the writing section component.

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi offers a variety of academically competitive scholarships for all students. The Scholarship Office assists students with the application process. The liaison also coordinates the process of manages and awarding scholarships.
