The  Global Studies - Asia major offered by Ohio University critically examines these trends as well as the rich cultures, traditions, and societies of Asia.  The curriculum involves courses from four university colleges and many disciplines and it includes multiple opportunities for study abroad. The interdisciplinary nature of the Global Studies - Asia major is applicable to a wide variety of professions. 

East Asia includes China, Japan and Korea. As American businesses expand to East Asian nations, and East Asian-based businesses expand to the United States, many employers see graduates with a solid background in East Asia as desirable prospective employees.  Students have many opportunities to study abroad in East Asia, including exchange programs in China at the Ohio Shandong Center in East Asian Studies and Hong Kong Baptist University.  Study abroad opportunities in Japan include exchange programs at Musashi University in Tokyo and Chubu University in Kasugai.
