Energy and Materials Engineering is an integration of the following programs: energy engineering and materials engineering. For this reason, the program includes wide range of areas. We aim to raise fresh engineers possessing novel and ethical values who are capable of:
a) Carrying out energy efficiency and services, plant engineering, alternative energy technologies, existing and novel material production in public and private sectors,
b) Being integrated into multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary studies and participating in international research,
c) Owning essential cultural and knowledge to perform graduate research,
d) Performing and developing national and international projects and aiming lifelong learning.
Our graduates will be highly in need of the sector due to the increasing demands in the energy sector.
In summary, the graduates are going to be employed:
a) By several ministry departments particularly, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology,
b) By energy related governmental institutions such as Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) and Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO),
c) By governmental institutions such as Turkish State Railways, Turkish Electricity Transmission Company, Mineral Research & Exploration General Directorate, Petroleum Pipeline Corporation, Turkish Coal Enterprises,
d) By thermal, hydroelectric and nuclear power plants where energy production is carried out,
e) As researchers and designers in renewable and sustainable energy systems regarding areas such as wind, solar and geothermal energy,
f) As engineers, planner, expert, manager, director, head of department by the defense, electronic, iron-steel, glass-seramic, refractory, metal, metal casting, metal forming industries,
g) As design engineers where the energy production is carried out and researchers in R&D companies and universities.
