About this Degree
We regularly host prominent visiting speakers, conferences, and symposia throughout the academic year. We offer courses in all the traditional areas of philosophy (metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, history of philosophy, etc.).
At the undergraduate level, we offer both a major and minor in philosophy, with concentrations in general philosophy, legal and political philosophy, and philosophy of science and medicine.
The Philosophy Department from University of Tennessee Knoxville offers both a major and a minor in Philosophy. Students majoring in Philosophy may also pursue concentrations in political and legal philosophy or in the philosophy of science and medicine. And they may pursue either of these concentrations or the general major as an Honors concentration.
