Overview

The Psychology department at Kaohsiung Medical University offers lectures on current social issues, focusing in reference to both local culture as well as international academia. Not just limited to lectures, group discussion and presentations will also be used by professors to train students’ abilities in teamwork and oral communication skills, which are soft yet essential career skills.

The department continuously cooperates on interdisciplinary studies with other departments in hospitals. In recent years it has been trying to integrate positive psychology with the traditional mental health model, develop systematic diagnostic tools, and verify the reliability and validity of the intervention model with local features. The department is developing a research culture, valuing both theory and application.

Our graduated go on to pursue careers at hospitals, schools, public sectors, private sectors, continue higher education in graduate school, human resource management or business administration in Taiwan or abroad.
