Overview
Electrical/electronic engineering technologists use the principals of science and math to solve problems in industry and business, both in the public and privatize sectors. They work alongside engineers, independently, as well as in a supervisory capacity. This field is in touch with a wide and growing range of applications of technology, and therefore has many applications in today's workforce.
The Electrical Electronic Engineering Technology program at Wayne State University emphasizes hands-on laboratory experiences, and courses stress the practical application of mathematics, science, and engineering to solve real world problems.
Student outcomes
Student outcomes describe what students are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. These relate to the knowledge, skills, and behaviors that students acquire as they progress through the program.
Student outcomes for the EET program are:
- an ability to apply knowledge, techniques, skills and modern tools of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to solve broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline;
- an ability to design systems, components, or processes meeting specified needs for broadly-defined engineering problems appropriate to the discipline;
- an ability to apply written, oral, and graphical communication in broadly-defined technical and non-technical environments; and an ability to identify and use appropriate technical literature;
