Overview
This content is contained in specific courses, but also woven through the curricula of all courses. Expertise in these areas is required by the State of Michigan and is tested prior to the beginning of student teaching.
Students who earn a Bachelor of Science degree, in Visual Arts Education from Wayne State University, will also earn the provisional certification from the state of Michigan (LQ). This enables them to be employed teaching arts in schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. Graduates with this degree and certification are employed in public schools, charter schools, parochial schools, and a variety of academies and arts-focused high schools throughout the state of Michigan. Alumni from Wayne State University in Visual Arts Education have been acknowledged statewide for their outstanding performance as teachers.
