What you will learn in this program

Social workers engage in a wide range of professional roles, and are employed in a variety of sectors that include, but are not limited to, private practices, the public sector, and non-profit organizations. During the BSW in Social Work program from University of Calgary, you will gain research capabilities, practical experience, written and verbal communication skills, and a deeper understanding of how to help individuals and families within the context of their environment. As a social worker, you’ll be prepared for global career opportunities in settings such as hospitals, community health clinics, social service agencies, correctional facilities, consultation agencies, and the civil service. You may enter our program once you've completed either a social work diploma or two full years of university study, or as an after-degree student.

Academic Requirements

If you are completing or have completed an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma with at least three subjects at the Higher Level, and no grades below 3, you must present five required courses for your program. Admissions averages will be calculated using either the early or standard admission processes.
