Overview
Firms and institutions constantly have to face many new and intense challenges. In recent years, for example, issues associated with inequalities, sustainability, gender and race have become prominent. Despite ‘globalization’, nations and nationalism are now back on the agenda. The BSc IBP considers these challenges and looks at the ways they are changing the relationships between businesses, governments, international institutions and other actors such as non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The programme will prepare you to tackle them.
Learning outcomes
The International Business and Politics BSc course at the Copenhagen Business School (CBS) comprises the three academic disciplines of economics, business administration and political science. It also introduces you to quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Together, these fields of study will help you achieve a comprehensive understanding of political and economic forces and their impact on business and society.
You will work with core areas within the study of business and strategy and learn how to analyse a company and its activities. You will at the same time consider how companies develop and implement strategies in national and international business settings. You will gain an understanding of companies from both an economic and an organisational/managerial point of view. You will thus work with business economics and for example learn to assess the optimal output a company must produce of a given product, how it should price its products and how willing it might be to take risky decisions. You will also study organisational behaviour, that is, how people act within a company.
Career Opportunities
Most BSc IBP graduates tend to end up in private or public companies or organisations with an international profile – but they work within many different fields of business, economics, politics and regulation.
