The Environmental Engineering program from South China University of Technology is accredited as a Guangdong Province Brand Program, has its own Guangdong Provincial Environmental Engineering Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center and offers entrepreneurship courses in Environmental Industry.


School of Environment and Energy(SEE) includes 3 departments and 2 research institutes/centers, namely Environmental Science Department, Environmental Engineering Department, Municipal Engineering Department, Environmental Science Research Institute, and New Energy Research Center.

The school possesses 2 key laboratories: Key Laboratory of Pollution Control and Ecosystem Restoration in Industry Clusters of the Ministry of Education and Key Laboratory of Environmental Protection and Eco-remediation of the Guangdong Regular Higher Education Institutions.

International students undertaking this Environmental Engineering program at the South China University of Technology will:

  • Receive a thorough grounding in theoretical engineering and the application of those broad principles to practical research-based projects and/or industry-based projects;

  • Develop professional capabilities to participate in and contribute to engineering project teams; 
  • Have a broad appreciation of and be able to specialize in water treatment engineering, air pollution control engineering, solid waste disposal and recycling, and biological technology;
  • Acquire, through theory and practice, cross-cultural literacy and, improved proficiency in English, and enhanced Chinese language skills.
