About this Degree
The program of study leading to the degree Bachelor of Music with a major in Music Education at the University of Georgia is designed to prepare the student for a career in teaching. It provides a broad base of general studies, applied music, music theory, and music history and literature. Professional course work and an internship are offered in the third and fourth year of study. Students completing the program are recommended for certification to teach PK-12 music in the public school systems of Georgia. Students may elect to specialize in choral, instrumental, or elementary/general music education.

- Passing grade on the piano proficiency examination.
- Submission of the Program Application Form
- A GPA of 2.8 or higher maintained every semester until graduation.
- Spring 2022 auditions must occur before December 1, 2021.
