About

Communicative Language Teaching in campus classrooms develops our candidates’ proficiency early on. Real-world cultural experiences and language study on-site in three- and five-week intersession courses and in full-semester programs build cultural proficiency. Complementary minors are available (Linguistics, Urban Education, Women’s Studies, Comparative Literature, European Studies and Political Science to name a few) and are popular add-ons to the major. A series of field experiences prepares students for successful student teaching. And one-on-one mentoring of student teachers by a UD Field Instructor and classroom clinical educator ensure success in teaching.
